In celebration of Vodafone’s role as Lead Partner to the British & Irish Lions for the 2021 Tour of South Africa, they have worked with ESPN UK to produce a one-off digital show to showcase the release of the new Lions jersey for 2021, as well as launch The Official British & Irish Lions App powered by Vodafone, giving fans the opportunity to become the faces of Vodafone’s #UniteThePride campaign.
Co-created and brokered by dentsu agencies, Carat and The Story Lab, the magazine show will be hosted by sports pundit and former rugby union player, David ‘Flats’ Flatman and TV presenter, Sarra Elgan. They will be joined by a host of the sport’s British & Irish legends including, Sam Warburton, Jeremy Guscott, Sir Ian McGeechan, Maggie Alphonsi, and Paul O’Connell. The star-studded line-up will discuss what it means to wear the Lions jersey, share their excitement of the 2021 tour, and debate their starting XVs, using the official supporter’s app squad selector feature.
With the innovative AR app feature, the show will hero Vodafone’s Digital Lions, calling on rugby union fans to create personalised avatars and become the faces of the Vodafone campaign to #UniteThePride.
