Carat has been recognised as the world's leading media agency for the second time running in RECMA's qualitative Network Diagnostic rankings. After looking at 44 countries around the globe, RECMA calculated that we have a worldwide industry market share of 12.6% and awarded us 1,243 points, 100 more than last year. This makes the network the clear leader, outpacing our nearest rivals, OMD and Mindshare.
Doug Ray, Carat's Global President, said: "This is a fantastic achievement. To achieve this, you have to be the number one or number two agency in most of the world's leading media markets and we've shown great consistency and strength to keep this position in so many countries. It's taken a lot of hard work by everyone in the network, and we should all be very proud."
Carat is the leading agency in seven countries – USA, China, Canada, Denmark, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan – and has a strong position in other key markets, such as UK, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Philippines and New Zealand. Regionally, Carat is the leader in North America and APAC, and third in EMEA, behind Mediacom and MEC.
RECMA's global Network Diagnostics report is the most important and fundamental piece of research produced by the global media research agency. They base their rankings on a qualitative evaluation of 44 different countries, which are then weighted based on the geographical priorities for international advertisers. In each country, media agency networks and major independents are evaluated against a set of 16 to 19 Key Performance indicators segmented into four categories, Compitches, Momentum, Special Resources and Client Profile.
