Anathea Ruys joins Carat as managing director of its Los Angeles office

Carat hired Anathea Ruys as senior vice president, managing director of its Los Angeles office. Ruys will be tasked with fostering current client relationships and establishing new ones while reporting to Carat president and chief client officer Michael Epstein.

“As we continue to build and transform long-lasting partnerships with each of our clients on the West Coast, we needed a forward thinker who understands the impact the digital economy has on our clients’ businesses. Anathea is a true collaborator who knows how to deliver great work and even better results,” Epstein said in a statement.

Ruys joins Carat following two and a half years as the head of Fuse, the branded content, sponsorship and ideation division of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific. Based out of Singapore, Ruys worked with media partners including Facebook, YouTube, A&E and Maker Studios in leading the division. Prior to Fuse, she spent two and a half years as managing director of the Melbourne office of Mindshare, helping it win new business including Nike and Origin Energy. Before that she served as managing director of PHD’s content division, Spark Activate, and Clemenger Harvie Edge in Melbourne.
