12 Days of Brave: Week Three
This spring, we launched 'Make Brave Happen' – our new internal mantra focussed on our culture. We want to be more connected, more curious and even more courageous. We've now had 10 months of being disruptive, different and diverse through 10 different initiatives. But as we come to athe end of 2016, we have asked the leadership team to step up and take on their very own personal challenge. One per day - which we've called The 12 Days of Brave.
The final week of 12 Days of Brave saw our Head of Insight and Evaluation, Alison Drummond, asked to develop a space for reflection and inspiration within the agency and our Head of Strategic Planning, JP Cadman, tasked with finding a way to better discover the great work being created within the Dentsu Aegis Network in the UK. Both had less than eight hours from the time of being briefed to reporting back to the entire agency with a prototype, minimum viable product or concept.
As a reminder, 12 Days of Brave was an initiative devised to support the three pillars of our new internal mantra, ‘Make Brave Happen’, which supports being:
- connected: when you work together with new people, better results happen,
- curious: when you ask different questions, better answers happen and
- courageous: when you try new approaches, better outcomes happen.
Each brief was specifically designed to show that bravery isn’t necessarily about being uncomfortable, but rather about a willingness to learn and get stuck in, that really, standing still really is the true enemy of bravery. Sometimes, all it takes to change things is a little nudge and a fresh thought – and magic happens.
The ‘Make Brave Happen’ concept itself was born from our own staff focus groups early this year. Next year the cultural initiatives that support it will no doubt be bigger and better and will form the bedrock of the personal development plans for each of us. Indeed, fearlessness will be celebrated across the agency to support and empower us as we both take on the challenges facing our clients and work on own personal growth.
