Gaming is becoming mainstream – it is estimated that 3.2bn people now play video games across different devices ranging from consoles to phones.  One consequence of this is that more platforms, including Netflix, Snapchat, and TikTok are now starting to offer games within their apps as alternative forms of content to attract greater engagement and repeat use.  In the future we expect content and gaming to become even more interlinked, for example ways of ‘playing’ within the worlds of our favourite shows and movies as Netflix recently demonstrated with their game for The Gray Man within Decentraland.
