At Carat, we believe that taking our social and environmental responsibility seriously will help us redefine media. This is because in today’s world our clients, our people and consumers alike are motivated by concerns beyond economics.

The vision for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Future Proof, is to not only become a more responsible business, but also to inspire positive action and together redefine the value of media. Future Proof means doing the right thing in our day-today business; we have the scope and reach to make a positive impact on society using the power of advertising.

We want to play an active role in strengthening our communities and in preserving the environment where we operate. Here are some examples of how we are working with the community in Manchester:

Actively supporting charity

We know that by getting active we can improve the lives of others as well as our own. That’s why we’ve taken on different challenges to raise money for local charities, including the Manchester 10k, the Greater Manchester Marathon. Next up, we have the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge set firmly in our sights.

Baking for a cause

We firmly believe that we can have our cake and eat it; so, we do! Whilst the star bakers amongst us showcase their amazing baking skills the rest of us dig in, raising money for the great causes we choose to support, from Macmillan Cancer Support to Street Support, a Manchester based homeless charity.

Giving at Christmas

We're all agreed that Christmas is truly a time of giving, that's why we join Dentsu Aegis Network in raising money to support those who need it the most – from wearing Christmas Jumpers, collecting gifts for Toy Appeals, and collecting donations in return for parcel deliveries. Through these activities we've been able to support charities including Save the Children, Street Support, Age UK and Mission Christmas Cash for Kids.


To us, giving is about more than fundraising. Our internal Innov8 programme enabled us to put our skillset into practise, as members from the teams here at Dentsu Aegis Network Manchester, shared their knowledge and expertise to produce a communications plan for Street Support, to help ensure their continued growth.

Innov8 also provides the perfect opportunity for people in our network to come together, knowledge share, and learn from each other to pitch their team ideas.

Read to Succeed

Our Read to Succeed programme is incredibly popular; each school year volunteers from across the business take some time out of the office and head to a local primary school to help a child practise their reading. Volunteers often sign up to take part year after year and comment on not only how the child’s reading ability develops, but their confidence grows too.

The Code

The Code is a network wide initiative that brings together the power of our people across our network to make a positive impact on society and the next generation of talent. We share our own experiences, enthusiasm and expertise to inspire future talent. Find out more about The Code here.
