Our Culture

At Carat we work on the principles of People, Value and Growth. Without focussing on our people we can’t expect to drive value or growth for ourselves or our clients. And ensuring we have the best culture in the industry means we can hire and retain the best people. 

Our annual charity softball tournament Carathon, is a great example of our culture in practice.  It has been running for X years now and is a firm fixture in the calendar for both Carat and the media owner community.  Each year we nominate a different charity and raise about €15k for them, by running the day and charging media owners to enter a team.  We are on an incredible streak of luck with the weather and this year, 2016, was no exception – which always makes the day work even better.

We are committed to nurturing the next generation of advertising professionals with the DAN Graduate Programme, started in 2015 and continuing into 2016.  This programme created 4 positions, one in each company, which attendees of the even were invited to apply for.  The evening consisted of a series of informal talks from each company and gave graduates an insight a career in the DAN group in Ireland. 

We encourage collaborative working and a team spirit in Carat and to support this, we run a monthly ‘shout-out’ where people get the chance to nominate someone in the company who has really gone above and beyond the remit of the their job, to help their colleagues out.  The winner gets highlighted in a company-wide email and also gets a €100 voucher of their choice as a thanks.

In addition to the Carathon, there are lots of other regular social outings throughout the year to maintain and build team spirit.  We have themed Summer and Christmas party and each client team in the agency also gets a budget for their own team night out.  This year also saw the first ever ‘Carat-aoke’ (bad Karaoke pun…) which went down extremely well and may turn into an annual event!
