Dentsu Aegis Network is the only marketing services agency to be named within the ‘Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark’, which is based on scores from four key areas of flexible and family-friendly policies and practices that support working parents and carers. These areas include:

  • Integration to organisational strategy and culture – which looks at culture, attitude and how far flexible and family-friendly working practices have become embedded.
  • Policy – which looks at the creation, development and deployment of flexible and family-friendly working policies.
  • Consistent practice – which considers how well flexible and family-friendly working are supported.
  • Evidence and statistics – which looks at the effects of flexible and family-friendly working on the organisation, and their ability to understand those effects.

Dentsu Aegis Network was recognised for its well-established agile and flexible working policy first introduced at Amplifi in 2016 and subsequently rolled out across its other London agencies such as Carat, iProspect, Vizeum and mcgarrybowen. Addition benefits and policies contributed to the network’s success in the Benchmark including 20 weeks’ paid shared parental leave to match its maternity and adoption policies; three weeks’ paternity leave; a buddy and coaching programme for parents and carers returning to work; and an Employee Assistance Programme available to all employees and their family members.

Anne Sewell, Chief People Officer, Dentsu Aegis Network UK & Ireland, said: “We’re thrilled to be recognised for our commitment to creating a culture that fully supports our working parents and carers. We appreciate that our people have responsibilities for children of all ages as well as elder care, and we continue to work hard to ensure that they feel fully supported to achieve their best at work and at home.”

The Working Families Benchmark was unveiled as part of Working Families’ National Work Life Week campaign and captures the experiences of more than 450,000 employers across the organisations that took part.

About Working Families

Working Families is the UK’s work-life balance charity. They help working parents and carers—and their employers—find a better balance between responsibilities at home and in the workplace.

They provide free legal advice to parents and carers on their rights at work. They give employers the tools they need to support their employees while creating a flexible, high-performing workforce. And they advocate on behalf of the UK’s 13 million working parents, influencing policy through campaigns informed by ground breaking research.

About National Work Life Week

National Work Life Week (7-11 October 2019) was an annual campaign to get both employers and employees talking about wellbeing at work and work-life fit. It’s an opportunity for employers to show their staff, and potential candidates, how their organisation is striving for a family-friendly and flexible working culture. The campaign is run by Working Families, the UK’s work-life balance charity.

The Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark 2019

The Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark was established by Working Families in 2010. It is UK-wide and open to all Working Families’ employer members.

The Benchmark is a way for employers to see whether they are ahead or behind the curve in the development of flexible and family friendly working, and to get tailored feedback and next steps support from Working Families.  To register interest in taking part in the 2020 Benchmark, contact employers@workingfamilies.org.uk
