Sean O’Brien is CEO of Carat Asia Pacific and acting CEO of Carat China. He has over 20 years’ experience in senior management roles gained in London, New York, EMEA, Latin America and Asia.
Sean has a track record of driving growth and has worked internationally with clients such as P&G, GM, McDonald’s, HP, Mastercard, Mondelez, Diageo and Google.
Under Sean’s leadership Carat has become the fastest growing agency in APAC over the past 4 years, led the RECMA qualitative rankings for 6 consecutive reports, consistently headed the new business tables and been awarded more in market Agency of the Year Awards than any other network.
Aside from media, he brings the added perspective of having run a full service advertising agency, a branding consultancy and of developing businesses in content, design, sports & entertainment marketing, digital, outdoor, corporate communications, insights and data analytics.
Sean has judged and won multiple industry creative and effectiveness awards and in 2013 was awarded Asia Pacific Agency Network Head of the Year by Campaign. He is a qualified business coach, a member of the “Chartered Institute of Marketing” and an assessor for the “European Business Excellence Awards”.
Monica Lin has 25 years experience in media and marketing. She has worked across multiple categories ranging from Uni-President, 7-11, Wei Chuang, Gucci, Hermes, Nissan, Chrysler, Pioneer to Wyeth.
She currently oversees the client service team in Carat Beijing. In her previous role, Monica was EVP, Aegis Media Taiwan. Prior to that, she had worked for Union Ad, LOWE, Bozell, FCB and Kuo Hua Ad.
Monica has a strong knowledge of client service, business management, brand marketing, event planning, cross-brand marketing and PR crisis management.
Jimmy Kuo has over 16 years of experience in media communications, working with global and local clients in multiple vertical categories across Taipei, Beijing and Shanghai.
Kuo joined Dentsu Aegis Network in 2013 as a business team lead within Carat with a focus on international clients including Pernod Ricard and Microsoft. His strategic approach has helped large traditional clients drive significant growth by transforming their investment approach from an historical TV dependent focus to a diversified and integrated investment model that drove greater business impact.
In 2016, Kuo took over the role of General Manager for Business & Strategy Development at Amplifi, the trading division for Dentsu Aegis Network. In this role he led the strategic development of buying strategies for Dentsu Aegis Network key accounts, ensuring the delivery of maximum value across traditional and digital channels. Kuo was also instrumental in business development for the group, improving integration and work flow through best practices.
Raymond has more than 25 years experience in marketing and communication between China and Taiwan which cover market research, consumer research, branding and media planning.
After graduating from university, Raymond has been working in an advertising agency in Taiwan for 16 years. He was invited to join Carat Taiwan in 2001. He then moved to China, where he successfully helped winning Master Kong and has worked on the account for over ten years.
Jane has taken various HR professional roles in HR strategic planning, talent acquisition & retention, reward strategy, organization development etc. for over 20 years in multinational companies across several different industries. She joined Carat in July 2012 and mainly focused on talent development, employee engagement and building high performance culture to address organizational challenges to support business sustainable growth.
Jane lead HR team to work closely with business leaders and achieved better results in terms of organizational effectiveness. Carat University has built the foundation for all employees’ learning & development at Carat since July 2013. ADP (Accelerated Digital Program) was successfully rolled out in 2016 and helped people to enhance digital capability, which supports 100% digital in 2020. Carat Innovation Day provided our employees with better opportunity to understand why & how to be more innovative.
Before joining Carat, Jane held HR management roles in IBM, Diebold & ICI across Greater China Area.
As a veteran delivering best-in-class content for a variety of advertisers with both international horizon and local knowledge, Chen brings with her more than 17 years of experience in media and advertising industry, with 14 years dedicated on content marketing, strategy and partnership.
Before joining Carat, Chen was responsible for leading the strategic growth and business development for Discovery channel in China. She played a key role in the Nanjing Calling First Time Film Maker project with Nanjing government, Bear Grylls China Reality Show on Dragon TV with SMG, and Discovery’s partnership with Chevrolet in launching Equinox. Chen is committed to helping brands redefine their content strategy to drive better business value for clients.
Wang Fan leads a team to provide customers with services in social media strategy, consumer insights, mining and maintenance, data monitoring, etc. He is a senior researcher and practitioner of social media and social business with five years of social media experience.
Wang Fan was one of the founders of Sina Weibo, head of the national commercial market. Responsible for providing social media consulting services for corporate clients in more than 20 industries.
With years of expertise in media planning, consumer research and advertising effectiveness evaluation, Simon joined Carat in 2013.
He has worked as different roles in agency and media owner across planning, new business development, analytics and modelling etc. With deep understanding to media planning and analytics, he always tries to generate business value through integrating these 2 abilities.
Simon specializes in analytics, consumer research & insights (including China’s largest syndicated consumer survey “CCS”), tools management and media ROI business & practices for Carat. He also developed the industry first communication ecosystem optimization tool “Ecosystem Planner”.
Gordan currently leads the Adidas business, along with VCA, Sephora, Playstation, JYSK, the newly acquired Dutch Lady & helped a host of international clients to launch in China.
Gordan has about a decade’s worth of experience in media planning. Prior to Shanghai, he was posted in Jakarta, Indonesia as Associate Planning Director in Mindshare. His role was to help build and manage a local team assigned to Unilever.
Career Highlight: He currently heads team adidas, previously embraced Pernod Ricard, Perfetti van Melle and ANZ Bank.
Sarah is responsible for championing Carat China’s proposition to external and internal audiences. She is focused on marketing and promoting Carat across China via social, PR, events and prospecting initiatives.
Sarah joined Carat China from the UK where she was Head of New Business for Dentsu Aegis Network brands, Carat, Vizeum and iProspect and has more than 12 years’ experience in media, across agency and media owner backgrounds including Guardian Media Group.
